A Rainy Spring Wedding in Nebraska || Heartland Country Barn Wedding

Bride and groom walk hand in hand towards their wedding ceremony at their barn venue

When Lindsey first met Kaleb through their church group, she friend-zoned him. But three months into their friendship she realized that maybe Kaleb was “good husband material” after all. And so began the love story that led to this unforgettable Heartland Country Barn wedding.

A Wedding Day Filled with Intention at The Heartland Country Barn

On a very windy, and somewhat rainy spring day, Kaleb and Lindsey had the most joyful, intentional, and BEAUTIFUL wedding at Heartland Country Barn. Lindsey, a photographer herself  (seriously, go check out her gorgeous work!!), planned every single detail with such intention and creativity. From the invites designed by Kaleb and Lindsey themselves, to the bright and bold florals from Petal Collective, every detail was a dream.

Lindsey popped champagne with her bridal party while Kaleb chugged Redbulls with his groomsmen. When it was time for first looks, her bridesmaids were overflowing with joy and excitement. Her dad cried and hugged her as he saw his daughter for the first time. Their closest friends and family, there to cheer them on and celebrate by their sides the entire day.

Wedding Ceremony set up at the Heartland Country Barn wedding venue in Nebraska

For their first look, Kaleb and Lindsey said private vows and had a private communion. Emotions were high and many tears were shed as they prepared to say, “I do”. These two were so ready to be married!

During the ceremony rain began to fall and the wind blew. But the joy continued to radiate off of Lindsey and Kaleb. Lindsey opened her arms, laughing and welcoming the raindrops as they fell.  Surrounded by the outstretched hands of their loved ones, worshiping and praying, they started their life together.

Let the Celebration Begin

True to their fun-loving spirit, Kaleb and Lindsey danced back down the aisle and straight into their reception at the Heartland Country Barn.  Lindsey’s dad, props and all, had the whole room laughing out loud as he gave his speech.

Kaleb and Lindsey’s Heartland Country Barn wedding was everything a wedding day should be—joyful, sacred, intentional, and FUN. First dances that made the crowd wipe tears from their eyes, sunset portraits providing a moment of quiet time for the bride and groom, and, of course, a dance party to end the night.

Kaleb and Lindsey, thanks for letting me be a part of your love story.

Tiny humans walking down the aisle are adorable—but beyond the cuteness, flower girls and ring bearers add a layer of sweetness, personality, and connection to your ceremony that adults simply can’t replicate.

Austin and Sadie’s engagement photos at the Joslyn Art Museum were an absolute dream to capture and easily some of my very favorites of 2025. They are the kind of couple who radiate joy and love everywhere they go, and that energy translated so beautifully into their photos.

One of the best ways to ensure your wedding day feels calm, joyful, and true to who you are is to create a thoughtful wedding day timeline.
