Greg and Elizabeth met while attending UNC Wilmington and spent nearly a year navigating long-distance before eventually building a life together. Their engagement, overlooking Marina Bay Sands during a family trip to Vietnam and Singapore, reflected something that’s always been important to them—sharing life’s biggest moments with the people they love.

A Morning Filled with Anticipation
The morning was relaxed, joyful, and full of excitement. Elizabeth looked absolutely timeless in her gown while spending the morning surrounded by her closest family and friends.
Before the wedding, she had mentioned that she didn’t think she’d be emotional. She couldn’t have been more wrong.
As the day unfolded, the significance of everything began to sink in. Seeing loved ones who hadn’t been together in years, putting on her wedding dress, and realizing she was only hours away from marrying Greg brought tears throughout the day. They weren’t dramatic moments; they were quiet, genuine reminders of just how meaningful the day really was.
Those are always some of my favorite moments to photograph because they’re completely unplanned. There’s no posing or prompting, just honest emotion.
Greg’s morning carried the same calm excitement. Surrounded by family and his closest friends, there was an overwhelming sense that everyone was simply happy to be together.
That feeling continued throughout the entire day.

If you’re planning a church ceremony, I always recommend leaving extra time between the ceremony and reception. Family photos, congratulations from guests, and transportation between venues almost always take longer than couples expect. A little flexibility in your timeline makes the entire day feel more relaxed.
Portraits Around Downtown Omaha
Although it was technically a fall wedding, the weather felt much more like summer.
Rather than spending a long time outdoors in the heat, we adapted the portrait plan to keep everyone comfortable while still creating beautiful photographs.
We started around Omaha Central High School, whose historic architecture paired perfectly with the timeless style of Greg and Elizabeth’s wedding. From there, we headed inside Leo Ballroom where the elegant interior provided another incredible backdrop while giving everyone a chance to cool down before the reception.
One of my favorite things about photographing downtown Omaha weddings is how much variety you can find within just a few blocks. Historic buildings, classic architecture, modern city streets, and elegant interiors all work together to create photographs that feel timeless without requiring a long drive between locations.
Sometimes couples worry that changing their plans because of weather will mean sacrificing beautiful portraits.

After portraits, everyone gathered at Leo Ballroom to celebrate.
The historic ballroom was the perfect setting for Greg and Elizabeth’s reception. Elegant without feeling overly formal, it created an atmosphere where guests could relax, reconnect, and celebrate together.
One thing that stood out throughout the evening was just how family-centered everything felt.
There were hugs between relatives who hadn’t seen each other in years, conversations that carried on late into the evening, and countless reminders that weddings bring together people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to gather in one place.
Those moments often become some of the most meaningful memories from a wedding day.
As dinner ended and the music began, the energy shifted.
The Downtown Collective had the dance floor packed from the very beginning, creating exactly the kind of celebration Greg and Elizabeth had hoped for. Guests of every age joined in, making for an incredibly fun evening that perfectly balanced elegance with genuine joy.
Watching everyone celebrate together was the perfect ending to a day that had been centered on family from start to finish.
