A Taharaa Mountain Lodge Wedding || Mark + Morgan

On a windy September afternoon, Mark and Morgan said “I do” at the stunning Taharaa Mountain Lodge. They were surrounded by the gorgeous colors of early fall and a breathtaking Rocky Mountain backdrop.

As a Nebraska-based destination wedding photographer, I’ve traveled to some incredible places (check out my visit to Scotland!), but there’s something truly amazing about a Estes Park wedding. Mark and Morgan’s celebration was a blend of elegance and mountain charm. The lodge’s cozy yet upscale vibe made it the perfect setting for their day.

What made this weekend even more special was Mark and Morgan inviting me to their rehearsal dinner as a guest. That night, I witnessed just how deeply they’re loved — not only by each other, but by everyone around them. It set the tone for a wedding day that was full of laughter, genuine emotion, and the kind of love that gives you goosebumps.

The morning of their wedding, the girls got ready and the boys decided a game of golf… while wearing tutus… sounded like the best way to start off Mark’s wedding day. There was a whole lot of laughter and joy emanating from this group of people all day long! Their husky, Wolfie, made multiple appearances. He followed us from location to location as we documented the day (and he was just as photogenic as the rest of the bridal party)!

About Taharaa Mountain Lodge

Just a few minutes outside of downtown Estes Park, Taharaa Mountain Lodge is a quiet hideaway tucked into the mountains. It’s got that perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort — cozy, but still elegant. You’re completely surrounded by the Rockies. On a clear day, you get the most amazing shot of Longs Peak right from the ceremony site!

Inside, the Taharaa Mountain Lodge is just as beautiful. The reception space has high ceilings, warm wood tones, and so much natural light. The whole pre-ceremony part of the day felt calm and easy thanks to the thoughtful layout of the getting- ready suites.

What I really love about weddings at Taharaa is how the space works for everything. Whether you’re saying your vows under the open sky or dancing it out with your people inside, it all just flows so naturally. It’s one of those places that feels special the moment you step in — and it shows in the photos, too. Plus, you are super close to Estes Park and RMNP so it is easy to find beautiful lakes, mountains, and trails to take bridal party portraits!
