Luke and Rachel’s winter wedding at the Talon Room in Lincoln was the kind of day that proves just how beautiful simplicity and intention can be. On January 4, surrounded by the people who love them most, they created a wedding day that was cozy, intimate, and heartfelt.
The morning began with Rachel getting ready alongside her closest girls, all bundled up in the cutest pajamas. Rachel wore cotton pj’s decked out in hearts —one of those small details that instantly set the tone for a relaxed, joy-filled day. There was laughter, warmth, and that calm-before-the-storm energy that makes documentary moments so meaningful. One of the most touching parts of the morning was watching Rachel’s mom help her into her dress. It was one of those moments that makes me love my job, getting to be a fly on the wall, capturing the most precious and meaningful moments of the day.

Their ceremony was sweet and simple, centered on what mattered most. No excess, no distractions, just genuine emotion and the presence of family and friends. These are the kinds of ceremonies that photograph so beautifully because nothing feels forced. Every glance, smile, and tear tells its own story.

After the ceremony, we headed into downtown Lincoln for portraits, and winter truly showed off. Fresh snow covered the streets, giving us the dreamiest backdrop. Luke and Rachel leaned fully into the moment, enjoying their first moments alone as husband and wife. Documentary wedding photography thrives in moments like these, where real connection matters more than perfect poses.

The reception was pure joy. The speeches brought both tears and laughter, and the dance floor quickly filled—especially with little kids dancing their hearts out, stealing the show in the best way possible.
The Talon Room was the perfect setting for this winter celebration. Its warm, inviting atmosphere made the day feel intimate despite the chilly temperatures outside, and its location made slipping away for snowy downtown portraits seamless. It’s a wonderful option for couples who want a space that feels both elegant and comfortable.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who documents your day as it naturally unfolds, I’d be honored to tell your story.
